SellMoreColor, LLC has a very simple corporate philosophy: Help People

We help retail jewelers discover the tremendous opportunities for profit in the vast, untapped world of colored gemstones. Every jewelry store sells some jewelry containing colored gemstones. Very few jewelers understand the more lucrative market of loose gemstones and custom pieces. This can be as easy as setting a stone in an existing mounting.

We help you create an entirely
new base of repeat customers:
The Colored Stone Addict

These customers enjoy the process of combining stone and metal much like decorating a home. They desire the process as much as the finished piece. This process makes the jewelry more meaningful to them. They want to repeat the process again and again. These customers become your best ambassadors. Click to learn more

Reinvent your colored
gemstone business
with an onsite consultation

The consultation process

We start by discussing your needs. This service is very flexible and will be custom fit to you and your business. We offer solutions to most of your major dilemmas:

  • Marketing in a slow economy.
  • We don’t “stand out” from the competition.
  • The TV shopping channels and Internet are killing us.
  • Our profit margins are suffering.
  • The employees just don’t care anymore.
  • I just don’t care anymore.

We are not colored gemstone dealers.
One thing you don’t need is another vendor just trying to sell you inventory. We sell solutions. Make no mistake, a well chosen inventory is critical and will be more profitable. My experience can help you choose that colored stone inventory. But, our greatest strength is training you and your staff to SELL MORE COLOR.

The following is an example of a usual four day visit.

Day One:
Inventory Analysis and Acquisition

I will come to your store and together we will determine what is and isn't saleable in your existing color inventory. Together we will establish a budget for new color inventory.
Then we will meet with your color vendors if you like or I can introduce you to some I know. You can now benefit from my many years of buying. We will buy the RIGHT stones at the RIGHT prices.
The rest of the day will be spent with you learning value based pricing formulas to enhance your bottom line.

I will be available each day and night to do public speaking as well. All of my gem buying experience has a "socially responsible" focus and there are many wonderful stories to tell. Let's generate some community awareness while I am around. I do very entertaining presentations for any kind of church, community, or school group about a variety of gem and travel related topics.

Day Two: Training
Now that you have "killer" color. It's time to get your staff excited. The sales people will learn the proper display, lighting, and handling of these gemstones. We will develop their passion for color and help them pass that passion on to your customers. This is NOT just another sales training day.

I will spend time with your bench staff if available. My guys were able to do some amazing things with existing semi-mounts that will save you money. We will also cover any other gaps in their knowledge of setting colored gems.

Days Three and Four:
An Event or Customer Interaction

I will be around for two more days to be the "Madagascar Gemstone Guy" or "Bwana Jim...World Gem Traveler" for an event or just be in the store to talk to your customers about the passion of colored gemstones and help you develop your new Colored Gemstone Addicts. You will have turned these people into Customers for Life.

Since I come from a retail background, this program can adapt to your needs. Unlike other "Sales Consultants" I understand your life. I grew up in it. And I don't use the high pressure sales closing philosophy.

The Case for Color
by James Fiebig

It's time for a Renaissance in our industry. No more whining and crying about bad business. No more negative thinking. "Too much competition" no profit "everything looks the same". We have great opportunities but we are all too set in our ways to see them. Those opportunities are as abundant as the many colors of gem material available today. It's time for a Renaissance in our industry. No more whining and crying about bad business. No more negative thinking. "Too much competition" no profit "everything looks the same". We have great opportunities but we are all too set in our ways to see them. Those opportunities are as abundant as the many colors of gem material available today.

When I came back to the family jewelry business in 1979, my Dad pointed at the engagement ring case and said "Son, that's 70% of your business". I watched it drop to about 20% of our business over the next ten years. Were we that bad at selling diamonds? No, there truly was too much competition as the malls around us started attracting all the 18-25 year olds. Who can blame them, mall shopping is a social phenomena.
